Here’s a silly animated short I made a while back. Blender played a major role in the production, not just for the CG character, but also for the stop-motion puppet.
This was done in early 2017 so it was Blender 2.77 or 2.78, can’t remember. (Why have I released it now? I was procrastinating on some final touches, until I graduated uni )
Here’s the film! - Bit of Broccoli
And here’s a brief behind the scenes! - Bit of Broccoli - Behind the Scenes
I manually set up the render layers and compositing nodes to create a shadow pass, because at the time the shadow catcher did not exist. I only did this for a couple of shots though. For the rest, I simply duplicated the beauty pass in After Effects, made it dark, and made several tweaks to make it look like a shadow.
All compositing was done in After Effects, and texturing in Photoshop.
Hope you like it!
