Black model? Ehh?

I have a small problem…everything I create is black in the 3D window.

Uhm. I have no clue how the problem got fixed. I was going to fake GI and made a half sphere. Then I added a plane under the…umm…thing and then it somehow was as it was before. :o

usually black model = normals in the wrong direction.

You should try select model + tab + a + ctrl n to recalculate normals.

You can also deselect “double sided.”

yeah i find that i get this when i flip objects in object mode. It causes the normals to be the wrong way around. However, sometimes recalc normals does not seem to work, so i only flip in edit mode and when i have to flip in object mode, i deselect the ‘double sided’ button.
