Black Screen in Blender.

I think I may have asked this before, but how do I deal with Blender (2.63 for those asking) if I have a black screen and nothing else?

I’m trying to open this model: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/vehicles/cat-forklift/. But the black screen is all I’m getting.

The same thing happens when I open a new window within Blender.

This file takes a huge amouint of VRAM on your video card (700 MB) and need 30 seconds to start.
Try to render with CPU if you have enoug RAM.
You can reduce Subsurf to 1 on all objects to save RAM/VRAM.

Cheers, mib.

But this isn’t the only time it’s happened, this model: http://www.blendswap.com/blends/misc-objects/colin-chapman-s-seven/ has done this to me too.

This file need more than 2 GB RAM if you have less or using a 32 BIT system it cant render.
We need more info about your system.
Use Simplifie in Scene settingts to Subdivision 1 this reduce memory comsumption to 700 MB.
