Well… I finally got a new job. Unfortunately, my options are limited. I no longer have my own car, and the only family car is 4 hours away in New Orleans Monday through Friday, meaning I had to find something close enough to walk.
So, I now work in a seafood packing plant. Let’s see, today was the first day, started at 7:30am, through 4pm. I packed shrimp, headed and packed bull dozers (I think their resaurant term is “Spanish Lobster”, pretty much similar, just a different breed). Then I worked in the oyster room.
Two things I really don’t like about the job… 1) I just shaved my mustache and goatee. I look horrible with a mustache alone (I think, anyhow), and if I kept my goatee, I’d have to keep wearing a freakin’ hairnet on my face, lol… no thanks, I’ll grow it back later. 2) Got to find a pair of rubber boots (AKA, Bon Secour Reboks, lol). I have a hard enough time finding comfortable sneakers, and never have liked the fit of rubber boots… they’re either too tight or feel like they’re going to fall off. Bleh… go back in the morning.
