I’m happy to share with you BlendCamTarget, a target-based camera control rig based on geonodes.
It’s completely free! I am currently still beta-testing it (v0.5.4).
It presently features dynamic targets, manual & auto offsets, camera shake, camera bounce, transition banking, curved transitions, and auto focus.
You can watch an overview here:
You can freely download the setup here:
I hope you enjoy and find it useful. I’m happy to hear any suggestions, feedback, or questions, and also if you’re knowledgeable with GeoNodes and want to help out, I’d be happy for that too
I forgot to mention that this is not yet packaged as an add-on, so to use the setup you should append the BlendCamTarget collection from the provided file.
I’m happy to share beta version 0.6.1 of BlendCamTarget
On surface level not much has changed, but behind the scenes a lot did. Main improvement is that now you can see a the transition curve between where the camera is at and what path it will take to reach its next target. You have better controls to play with the curvature of that path, or add banking curvatures, and spin them all around.
You can also now clamp the bounce (elasticity) when transitioning between targets, to damp out entirely within the number of frames you choose.
This version was built on Blender 4.4. For the next updates, I’ll start using Blender 4.5.
You can freely download the blend file here:
Either append the BlendCamTarget collection from the blend file or append your project to the downloaded file, and start using it right away.
You can learn about its various features from the video linked in the original post.
I’d be happy to accept any feedback or questions.
For the next version, I plan to fine-tune the curvature system and bounce system further, and also add better controls and options for the auto-focus feature.
Happy Targeting!
Edit: Maybe I’m a bit biased, but I think it is one of the most feature-rich camera rigs for Blender at the moment, and it’s completely free. I hope to hear from you in case you use it
