Blender 2.46: can't emit particles from all vertices at the same time

Hi all, I’m fairly newbie in Blender.

I was trying to reproduce the effects on this tutorial:
http://www.peerlessproductions.com/tuts/pages/Particles.html

It shows how to use an animated hexagonal particle emitter to produce cool motion graphics patterns. I couldn’t get it to work with the new 2.46 particle system, though.

In previous versions of Blender (I tested in 2.45) an hexagonal emitter would emit particles from all 6 vertices simultaneoulsly. In 2.46, it emits particles sequentially, first from one of the vertices, then from the next, and so on. The Random button makes the particles come out of all vertices, but since it’s random, it doesn’t produce the patterned effect I was looking for.

Is it possible to make a 2.46 emitter launch particles from all its vertices at the same time, as in previous versions? How can I do that?

See if this works for you. 1) Go to EMIT FROM and make sure RANDOM is not highlighted and that it set at VERTS. 2) Then under PHYSICS change RANDOM to 0.000. You may have to still do some to twicking with other setting but this should get you close to generating particles at the same time.
