Blender 2.48a Crazy Composite Nodes?

Hey!

I’ve been working on making Earth in Blender 2.47, and it looks like this:

Today, I downloaded 2.48a! I was enjoying the “new blender smell”, and then I hit the render button, and I threw up in my mouth a little bit:

I’m not sure what happened, but I don’t like it. Both renders are from the same blend file, just opened, rendered, then closed, in each blender version. I assume the problem has something to do with the compositing node setup. I cannot provide a blend (it’s commercial work). I know that’s not very helpful towards fixing the problem, but I just thought this should be put out there.

I don’t have time right now to narrow it down, or reproduce it in an example, however if I do, then I’ll post it here.

If anyone has any insight as to what is happening, please share.

Can’t say why they are different but the problem looks the same when you have two exact size meshes at the exact same position. Renderer doesn’t know which one of the objects should be rendered. Don’t know if this is the case in this one though.

I’m doing exactly same kind of work at the moment by the way.
