(blender 2.49b) my armatures dont work!

See this tutorial about weight painting, it should allow you to paint over the vertices that are not yet captured by your armature and so have them rigged.

So what exactly does “Create from bone Heat” mean? How doe sit determine what parts of the mesh the bone is rigged to? What about “Create from envelope”? Is there a way to modify the envelope?
