Hello,
I’ve a problem with making proxy to rig. When I link character in blender 2.5 to my scene and use Ctrl+Alt+P and make proxy to rig i can’t deform the poses - I can come to Pose Mode but I can’t move there any one bone. I were trying to do this using few my models and Bipe-rig too and it doesn’t working all the time. When I try to do this same operation in blender 2.49 I don’t have any problem with moving bones and everything is working great. Please help me.
There was a change to the proxy-locking rules: basically, don’t put animation controls on proxy-locked layers, even though this means that the bones will not be totally synced correctly if changes occur.
Thank You very much it is working now.
Hi,
pardon my ignorance but how exactly do I get this to work?
I’m still learning blender and working my way through the “Learn character animation using blender” DVD, but I’m stuck on the locked proxy
care to help a noob out here?
I’m running blender 2.53b
thanks
A ha… I’ve got it.
Thanks
Not to be a necromancer on a dead thread, but does anyone know how to fix this?
Switching to blender from xsi, trying to get the hang of the animation tools.
Once you linked your rig and created the proxy you should be able to select (RMB) your armature.
now in the properties panel, select the object data tab.
Now expend the “skeleton” group, where you will see 2 sets of layers
- “layers” and 2. “protected layers”
look at the protected layers, if they are activated you are going to have to un protect them. This you do in your original rig file that you linked in your scene.
so save your scene and open the rig .blend file. Select your armature and un protect all the layers you want to use in your scene. save the rig file and now open your scene, you should be able to pose your armature now.
Hope it helps
