Ha! First reply!
Was gonna say, don’t we already have that? But than I looked closer. Great Job Blender Devs.
Looks nice!..
just built and dragging the corner triangle is just creating new panels like before…
so is"splitting region" a new and different thing? is there a key shortcut? can’t see anything in the menu…
DAM DAM DAM!!! Net scene too
Wait a minute, is this an option or the new method?
hopefully option. it looks very cool
Great feature!
You can Split with S.
Only S = horizontal split.
S+Shift = vertical split.
I have a question…if the shortcut is S, how we will scale objetcts?
Sorry for my bad English.
Cheers.

Michael W,
it’s different from splitting the view with the triangles… triangles split the view the same way it’s done currently…
for this type, you hit S to split vertically and Shift+S to split horizontally… what doesn’t work now is resizing those splits or joining them… i also noticed, they are somehow linked… when i navigate in one view and zoom out in the other, it zooms out from the point the last view was set…
one little thing, i didn’t think the warning to go fullscreen (F) was necessary, but for splitting, it’s good to have…
Ahh, thanks, that works… I guess all these shortcuts are temporary until the keymap/re-map stuff is done…
can you combine them+resize after?
The only difference here is that the toolbar isn’t cut off in half when the window is split, but the fact the toolbar no longer cuts off is a big improvement.
Probably in the future, but for now I think you can’t…
That’s very nice! Should improve work flow a lot, a decrease crowding!
All, please remember that this is all still very, very WIP and most keycombinations are there to test stuff.

As I thought! it’s easy to forget and get carried away!
It really is very nice!

the warnings are being discussed on the taskforce mailing list… there’s a proposal for a “notification” area for the “what happened” popups… and to only put the popups on stuff that might need a confirmation before doing. (eg destructive stuff or things that might seem obscure without it…
hey jesterKing that’s neat feature
(totally offtopic: I don’t like mix of rounded and default themes in button graphics design / don’t mean icons, they are nice)
That’s probably because the feature (for making those buttons rounded in the right places) hasn’t been coded yet (?).
