So about 10 days ago, I updated to Blender 2.55 and hated it so I went back to 2.49… Since then I have gone back up to 2.55 and I am wondering how to “Draw normals” like in 2.4?
In 2,4 I would just go into editmode and the Draw Normals button was there… Now I can’t find the button anywhere, since when I recalculate the normals, some normals still face the wrong way, this is very annoying… If anyone can help me out here… I would appreciate it a lot…
In the panel that appears when your press N just look down until you see ‘Display’, expand them by pressing the little triangle if needed. You will have to be edit mode to show the display normals tick box
Glewisguy, if you are in Edit mode and press [N] in 3D View window, a properties panel pops up on the right side. Over there, you’ll see ‘Mesh Display’ > ‘Normals:’
Check out ‘Face’ and increase the size by few decimal units to increase the visibility. That’s it.
Thanks for all the info, but…
Just to test normals, I followed the instructions in the “Blender Foundation 2.6” and created an irrgular faced shape, but there is no colour change on the output map, just an overall pale lavender colour. I am sure there should be more variation than that. I tried it with the 2.46 and that works fine. At a loss how to procede.
