Hello Everyone.
I just downloaded and used Blender 2.56A.
I like 2.56A because it was a quick response release and has not crashed on me.
At this point Blender is the only multipurpose 3d program I have used.
Animation, Video, Compositor, Particles, Fluid simulation.
I think the feature I like about Blender right now … this month … is
!!PARTICLES!! They are quite challenging for me.
Whats is your favorite feature??
So this thread is about Blenders great features …
no defect reporting here.
So here is my Challenge to Every user of the Blender Artists …
Blender Recruiting Challenge
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Please tell someone who has never used Blender in the next 30 Days why Blender is so useful and fun.
If they decide to enjoy Blender they can talk about their experiences in this thread.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Of course if you have already told someone in the past 30 days that counts as well.
My Favorite feature in Blender is Sculpting. I am mostly an organic modeler. Quite slow with lots of polygons in comparison to zbrush (for example), but hey, it’s free and definitely suits all my needs, i don’t need to much polygons on one mesh anyway…
Now that Unlimited clay is coming to Blender, it will be even more amazing.
Simulation in blender, well, I didn’t have any trouble with it yet.
But i heard it’s not production ready and many upgrades await. Sintel animators had trouble with it.
There will be node based particles, and particle based fluids in the future!
I did try XSI 2010 built in cloth, and Blender blew it away though.
Second favorite feature:
It boots up in seconds!
Least favorite feature (probably):
I don’t like how drivers and constraints are implemented. I’d prefer nodes. Complete freedom for driving one value with another (+math nodes)!
