Blender 2.5x Surviving Guide

Thank you for your interest SolarLune!
While playing with 2.45 ( great version), I’ve noticed that, aside “States”, nothing really useful have emerged in Blender!
Instead, Blender moves toward the sad “pro” style!
I guess that Ton is now a very occupied person, so he can’t survey his baby!

Well, I would say that if there were a survey, most people would go for 2.5 because of the better interface (I would). Also, it’s quite a bit faster than 2.4 - it’s closer to the speed of the BlenderPlayer, if I recall. Just a question - why are you using 2.45 and not 2.49?

Well, to me the interface its not better, just more “trendy”!
I use 2.49, sure, but do UV Texture work in 2.45 ( better interface, more options)!
I can’t get the “exported” 2.57 game to work, I get this message:
Fatal Python error: Py_Initialize: Unable to get the locale encoding
LookupError: no codec search functions registered: can’t find encoding
Abandon
Does this mean something to you
Bye

I think that maybe it’s because you have a final ‘.exe’ on the end of the file - I think that could be the problem, but I’m not exactly sure. It might be a problem with certain builds of Blender and the add-on that Moguri made to package the BlenderPlayer with the blend file.
