I installed Blender 2.61.0 r42614 on my iMac 27" Mac OS X 10.7.2 64 Bit.
There is an ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB built in.
In my Blender interface under the Render section I cannot see options to enable GPU / CUDA rendering. (see attachment)
Does my iMac / ATI Radeon HD 4850 512 MB not support GPU rendering?
That graphic card will only support cpu rendering.
Your screenshot also looks like you have not enabled the cycles renderer from the top of the blender window, once you have enabled the cycles renderer addon.
thanks for reply, I read somewhere that Blender also supports GPU rendering by OpenCL (not fully supported but at least something)
Is there any way to get GPU working using OpenCL and my ATI adapter?
I found it now, I had to enable Cycles as render engine first (in to top of the window).
Then I can see the feature set under the Blender render settings.
There I can choose ‘supported’ (CPU onlyI and ‘Experimental’ where I can choose OpenCL.
But as you mention OpenCL does not work. But even with CPU it is very fast using Cycles!
