Blender 2.63 - still lacks on heavily inset

Even after having so many complicated features, today Blender still lacks proper inset feature.

Even Blender 2.63 doesn’t have proper inset feature

there’s:
inset faces in the ctrl/f
inset polygons addon in release
2 inset tools by zmj100, inset faces (per face based) & inset fillet
& gsoc bmesh tools cleanup/fix/improvements means the wait should not be long for even better insets.

You mean these are going come in the Final version of 2.62??

Release Candidate of 2.63 still has malfunction in Inset even for a basic polygon

2.63 will have inset faces in the ctrl/f & inset polygons addon in release
zmj100’s addons are availible in his addons thread & not in blender.

Thanks a ton Meta. I can now see. This is amazing. Bevel is little not up to the mark still. But At least all these features would now not make me feel jealous of 3DS Max

Will 2.63 will have weld tool and cut tool like 3ds max?

Target Weld kind of tool is missing. Else I think everything for a good modeling is now present in Blender 2.63

Bevel is still not very even. I tried it and I could see that.

target weld? is this like bridge in blender?

Target Weld kind of tool is missing.
You can use the auto merge / vertex snap combo like you do in previous versions of blender.

No. Bridge is Bridge in 3ds max also

Target weld is basically welding vertex. Just that once you choose the option, you can click one vertex and then another. And the first one merges on to the second one

I think weld is the same as merge in Blender. In Edit Mode the Mesh menu -> Automerge editing should be similar to target welding. Also there is alt+m for manual merging.

Wow! I didn’t know that. That’s awesome.

Turn on automerge, use “snap to vertex”.
