Hi everyone, I just wanted to know if anyone else was having problems when rendering 32-bit Open EXR files?
I have been rendering Open EXR 32 bit for compositing in Vegas Pro 16 and the latest version of Hitfilm. An early version of 2.8 rendered Open EXR files fine, I can’t remember off the top of my head…I think the version would have been released in Jan sometime. I tried another later version…March, and this is when I first noticed this problem. I was hoping the problem would be spotted - but the release client is having the same issue. The files are rendering ok, but they can no longer be read by Vegas or Hitfilm. Very strange. Any ideas?
I have an Acer Predator Helios 500 laptop, with an i9 6 core CPU. No Intel GPU, just Nvida GTX 1070 with 8gig of ram. I had the latest creative drivers installed…but these are about a month old, I haven’t checked to see whether they have been updated.
Hi Ben. For curiosity, I exported/saved a rendering using the Open EXR format in the RC1, with all the various Codecs (lossless and not), RGB 32Bit Float (Full), and they all load and read without problems inside Natron (2.3.14) and DaVinci Resolve 15.
Curious. I’m still having trouble with this issue. One thing I forgot to mention in my opening statement was I am opening older Blender files - so 2.79 and Blendswap files.
After reading the only reply I’ve got from this so far - I went back and have been conducting various experiments to see if any rendered Open EXR files worked in Vegas…when I changed the render engine from Cycles to Evee…low and behold the rendered Evee file was readable in Vegas Pro 16. I am now running other experiments like turning off GPU acceleration to see if this is the problem.
Anyone else having similar issues or if someone has solved this problem - some help would be appreciated.
