With the alpha version of the blender, new hair systems are under development.
By replacing the curve-based hair system, which does not require an emitter object, it is possible to work with geometry nodes, so I think that the current hair system will definitely be replaced by a new system.
But there is a problem.
I’m thinking of creating an asset with a hair system, but I’m not sure if the objects created with the current hair system are compatible with the new hair system, so either use the current hair system or use the new hair system. I’m wondering if I should wait until it’s completed.
Is there any information about the new hair system?
