Blender 4.2 Rigify export to FBX problem

The Rigify root bone does not export with a scale of 1,1,1 in the FBX. When I import the FBX into UE 5, I see a scale of 100.0 on the root.

These are the steps I use:

  1. In object mode I selected the rig, press Ctrl + A and set the Scale. The scale then sets to 1,1,1 in Blender.

  2. I export as FBX.

  3. Then import the FBX into UE5 and look at the scale of the Root bone.

  4. Setting the Scale of the root bone to 1,1,1 in UE does not work.

  5. The scale of the “metarig” bone has to be set in the FBX from Blender.

Is there a way of making sure the scale of the root bone is set to 1,1,1 in the FBX when exporting?

Unfortunately I’ve never used UE, but I do have an initial question/test. What happens if you import the FBX back into a new/empty Blender scene?

I still see the scale of 100.0 on the root bone if I re-import the FBX back into Blender.

This worked.
