Blender and Kaydara's Motionbuilder

Hi. This is probably impossible, but no harm asking anyway…

I’ve been learning Kaydara’s Motionbuilder a little bit, it’s a really powerful character animation program for a rather reasonable price. Combined with Blender that would make a great modelling/animation package with very low price…

So anyone tried to use Blender with Motionbuilder? Is there a way to import blender characters to motionbuilder, and motionbuilder motion back to Blender for rendering?

PS. I don’t know how to code python.

Hi ook,

I had a free 1 year license to use Motionbuilder. I found it to be very easy to do animation with. You can export a model to Wings and then export as a obj file to Blender. Also the other way around to be able to import into Motionbuilder. I was able to export a bvh motioncapture file from Blender to Motionbuilder. You have to rename the bones to Motionbuilder format, but it was easy to do. I love how easy it is to pose a model and to animate it. I just can’t seem to get a handle on Blender’s animation yet, but I’m going to keep trying.

Good Luck.
