Blender and Lisp

Hello folks,

I am currently learning Lisp and would like to know if blender if compatible with Lisp ? Thanks a lot !

Not, there is no such interpreter.
Blender uses Python (3.x) as its script language.
Learn Python, it is much simpler, and you do not have to worry about an unclosed parentheses :).

try calling a function in python with an unclosed parentheses.

anyway, McCarthy is dead, long live lisp. Python does feel a bit like lisp, aside from not being a regular language.

There is a list implementation for python, highly interesting project.

Since the lisp is compiled into python bytecode - it can in-fact run at around the same speed as python.

I asked the developer if it would be much work to have python3 version working (currently py2 only), He replied that it would be 20-30hr project only… incidentally he’s a blender user too

If there was a enough interest he could do a fund-raiser to add py3 support (if money motivates him!), dunno if there is much interest in this, Id certainly be up for a few 100 euro to see this working in blender.

Note - from what I can tell this wouldn’t need any blender specific code, it only has to work in python3.2.

On a slightly related note, for those who like code-as-data,
I found a novel way to represent our UI - its valid python but looks more like nested data.
