On a more serious note, I couldn’t create a new post for this, but this topic felt (almost) appropriate.
Have any of you subscribed to Blender Studio, and if you’re enjoying it, and think it has helped your development as an artist / programmer, then how did it help you, particularly?
People could’ve done Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales on Blender Market addons, as unlike Blender itself there are actual transactions involved.
That could soon be .496 bitcoin for shipping at the rate the crypto house of cards is collapsing (with two major bankruptcies in coin dealers this week alone). I do hope the good people in El Salvadore rescued much of their life savings by exchanging everything back to fiat.
At least with the Tulip Mania, you could plant your now worthless bulbs and still have a nice bed of flowers.
Don’t forget to make use of this one-of-a-kind Black Friday opportunity, guys!
If you have something to spare though, you can support the developers of your favorite 3D multi-tool here:
Folks, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is…
I bet it’s missing features or it’s functionality is limited, final renders are probably watermarked, or something along those lines.
Heck, does it even have the default cube?
Randy
No, but you can buy 100 cubes for only 0.99 blendcoins (1 BC = 250 $)
It’s free, but everything you make in Blender will be used for AI training, and the resulting AI models will be sold to the kind people of OpenAI, Meta, Google and Amazon. That’s all.
And Nvidia, Epic Games, Unity Tech, Microsoft, Autodesk, ect…
It may be easier to just note the companies that will not scrape your data and assets to feed their models (as this may very well be the biggest buzzword to ever hit commerce). I would not be surprised at this point to here of the likes of Taco Bell, Kohls, and Miracle Gro wanting to become AI companies.
At some point the bubble will pop, and FOSS will be given yet another opportunity to pull ahead as commercial vendors hold the bag and try to revive their R&D departments (if the BF is smart, they will recognize Autodesk and friends making an unforced error and not waste donations on this stuff).
I say it is just an opportunity, because a lot of FOSS organizations honestly did far from an ideal job in taking advantage of everything moving to rental-only.
Blender for £0.00. There must be something wrong with it Nothing this good ,could ever be free
Damn, and my PC just chose this exact time to break
Actually blender should be the anticyclic unicorn that it is and offer a negative discount on bleck friday. 15 bucks / download, rigify and loop tools included. 4 day offer.
Hey wait….
Does this apply to my Blender Studio subscription?
Damn!
I already paid this month!
Ton just whispered in my ear that they plan to extend the free Blender offer to Cyber Monday! Grab it while you can!
I had some trouble to exchange my EUR into GBP so i couldn’t use this !? Can someone send me 0 GBP please . Then i could buy this even multiple times to support the developers.
Wait, y’all got a discount code?
Honestly beyond me how this company manages to stay in business…
Obviously there’s a disconnect between Blender’s board and shareholders e.g. high $0.00 cost per unit, then for instance an expectation some random customer will via one or three clicks…if that, download/launch a 2.79x zipped application without even bothering too install it first, as well as using an HP Compaq WINXP Presario Pentium II - 1GB RAM notebook?!
Surely it’s prohibitive $0.00 alone will see the board’s backed motion for increased product pricing at next months AGM dated for the 25th, will indeed fail
(hopefully )
Maybe… that’s the wrong currency ? Maybe is was meant in… SuzanneCoin ?? And it’s just about rounding/precision the actual yet very low value of 0.000000001 → 0 ???
( Now find the default cube in this )
