I’m trying again to get 8 more contributions for this project. It has been on the back burner for a while now and I need to know if it is worth working on this game. I released what was apparently a rather broken version of the game a while ago and got only a few responses. I would like to finish this game but its just a waste of time if I don’t have interest from this community.
See Original post for rules for contributions.
Thanks to those who have already contributed and heres to hoping that this community helps me finish it.
I got a game from Meat_Beater a while back for this project bringing the total up to 13. I’m bumping this thread to see if anyone else can help me out.
I was beginning to wondering if you got it. You never messaged me back, but its all good.
EDIT: How many games do you need?
He needs 20, and he’s not there yet because of lazy bums like me who haven’t made good on their promises for additional games.
Sorry, MagicMan, the second game I was trying to make failed because I couldn’t figure out how to program a grappling hook. Clean3D and I still have plans to make a game or two more for you, but as it is we’re both rather busy. I hope you keep this project open for a while and don’t just get frustrated with us all, because I really do want to do more for it.
BTW, have you considered upgrading the project to 2.43? I think that would be helpful, especially since most of the newcomers since you first started this probably don’t have 2.42a installed. You won’t be able to integrate any games people make with 2.43 because of the backward compatibility issue. Also, upgrading to 2.43 would open the door for some cooler projects with the new physics constraints update.
I might add some test games…
I can make any promises tho…
Actually I forgot to mention that I tried it in 2.43 and it worked fine except for maybe one game had slightly messed up physics but I’ll fix that. So please make your new submissions in 2.43. This project will stay open for a long time most likely. I just wont work on finalizing it much more until I get really close to 20 games.
 Hmm… I haven’t really followed up on the old blender barrage. Is there a quick way to find out what type of games are already made?
Heh, not promising anything here too, but I might do something. A 5 second game shouldn’t be too hard.

Look through my last few posts in the original thread. One of them has a list of the 12 games I had before the garbage game was added.
Well here’s what I found on p.3. It’s a little shy of 12 games though.
- Optical Illusion Maze
- Shoot the Moon
- Juggle
- Hit a Home Run
- Eat the Burger
- Space Shooter
- Protect the Water
- Tilt Maze
- Abduct the Cows
Unless I missed another post on the old thread that was more concise. Would you be able to relist the current games that are in blender barrage, and a quick description of the game play for each one?
If that’s not too much trouble.
Jason Lin
I thought that list was more complete but I guess not. Heres a link to the list of games and a little description for each: http://hattrick.frih.net/index.php?page=projects&project=bbgamelist
I cant make it but perhaps someone here can?
The idea… Get Em! opens to a big mallot and three mice running around on a plane below. Space key to pound and arrow keys to move. There is only one way to get them in the time limit. Know what it is? Of course you do.
Can some one put it together? Yes.
Sounds like a good idea ititrx. You could probably make that yourself if you tried. I would really like to see some involvement from those who have yet to completely hone their blender game engine skill. Making a simple 5 second game can’t be that hard. Even some of the games from experienced blenderers are extremely simple. I think the hardest part about making one of these games is coming up with the concept.
from those who have yet to completely hone their blender game engine skill
LMAO… oh thats so funny! How about zilch, nada, in the skills department. Im pretty sure making a box, pick up a cone doesnt count…LOL
But if time permits I will play with it. I’ve got lots of ideas, just no skills!
I think I could whip up something…
No promises though.
I got a question. How should I set up my messages if you need to hit a certain number of targets in the time limit? (I know I need to send “win” or “lose”, but I don’t know when to send the “lose”.)
My template file has an option for each game where I can set what happens when time runs out. So the main file will send the Lose message automatically. If this were your own project you could just send it when time equals 0 of course but I can easily handle what happens when time runs out by changing a simple property for this project.
I figure its about time to bump this thread. Anyone have any progress on submissions for this game?
I have a complete submission gameplay-wise. It has no sound and is still a little graphically unpolished. Should I submit it anyway?
template file?
How graphically unpolished is it exactly? Most of the games contributed actually have very simple graphics anyway. Sound isn’t important; theres music anyway. Its up to you if you think it its ready to be submitted.
