Blender Biography

Well, that’s it for me. I can’t stand the bickering or the uncertainty anymore. I have to make a clean break and go to something new. I suspect that in time we all will since Blender (along with the the juice-o-matic, the asparagus processor, and the automatic apple peeler) will eventually go the way of so many interesting but doomed kitchen appliances. I have some final words that I’m sure hardly any of you will read, but so fricken what.

  1. As a medium term (3-4 years) member of the community, I thought it was neat to interact with people from other parts of the world. It was also interesting (and sometimes funny) to read all the posts from non-indigenous English speakers. Most of you can’t spell, or write in English very well, but hats off anyway. I’m a more-or-less unilingual Canadian who knows all his French from reading the ‘other’ side of cereal boxes. So who am I to criticize.

  2. I spent quite a bit of money on Blender–I bought publisher, a few books, even one of those crappy t-shirts. (On a side note, all t-shirts I’ve ever got from Europe suck shit. What is it with you people?!). Anyway, I don’t consider it wasted. I learned stuff, made some goofy games, and some crappy models. It was a hobby from the get-go.

  3. I liked gameBlender. I know it took a lot of flak from the old-school users, but I though t it was a good idea. There will be a market for a fully integrated game-development suite one day, especially one suited for online multiplayer gaming (which seems all the rage these days).

  4. I can’t believe how consistent the forum personalities were: was Ice-man ever anything other than a wise but grizzled bastard with a shaft up is arse? If he was, I missed the post! Green (and his earlier aliases) always seemed to be a forum ‘nice-guy’, along with a few others.

  5. I liked the old Blender logo better. You know, that fricked up greenish eyeball looking thing. At least it looked 3-dimensional.

Well, that’s all I have to say…

So now, the end is near, and so we face, the final curtain.
