Can someone recommend me a good Blender book which is up to date and covers Blender modeling (At this moment I am not interested in animation with Blender).
I do have some basic experience with older versions of Blender ( I did few image renderings back in my college days but I didn’t follow recent changes and now I would like to spend some time on this :eyebrowlift: ).
“Introducing Character Animation with Blender” by Tony Mullen includes one chapter about modelling (from page 27 to 88) and another about materials, textures and particles (from page 89 to 128). Rest of the book talks mostly about animation.
“Animating with Blender” by D. Roland Hess covers all the process to create a short from start to finish and includes one chapter (pages 57 to 76) about character design and creation.
Both are excellent books, but mostly about animation.
You can download “Blender Basics - 2nd edition” from http://www.cdschools.org/54223045235521/blank/browse.asp?A=383&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=55205. This has also a chapter about modelling.
Not specifically for Blender, but interesting: “3D human modelling and animation” by Peter Ratner (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0471215481/qid=1049310426/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-2240039-9317746?v=glance&s=books).
