well after a few weeks of Rore non-stop private messages and emails, begging me to challange her i finally gave in. i mean she kept telling me how attractive i was and how handsome i am so i had to.
we decided to have a week long challange using the amazing artwork of Samwise who can be seen here SonsOfTheStorm.com
we both started work yesterday, and will finish on Saturday. then head down to BlenderBattles and post our work to be voted on!!
we both plan to update our pictures on this thread and get valuable commens and crits! i think we both have a great start!(but in reality we are just doing this so one day we can be as cool as ecks and Alltaken, but now all we can do is copy ).

Hmm… I have to go back to drawing the body of my orc now (face and side view, that much easier than using the original artwork)
thanks for the comments guys, also please follow this idea if you post on this thread please also include a comment about the work, or a focused crit, because we (me and Rore) have already invested hours of time into these models and i dont want this thread locked!!

Not much progress, but it’s in case someone wanted to see a wire. There something wrong with the nostrils I think, I must try to correct that. (but I don’t want to add to many vertices at the moment)
btw, I had some problem with the Loop Cut tool. It suddently decided to cut things in the middle, not where I wanted too. And it seemed to affect only the orc mesh. Strangely enough, I have that problem only if some vertices are hidden, and then I must use edge slide to move the cut where I want. Anyone got that problem before?
or is it just Wu doing some black magic on my orc?

your model is looking great by the way, i can see you are serious now, and that i need to work harder…
so looks like we are picking sides again, haha, someone else will have to keep track, i’m going to focus on beating rore, shouldnt be too hard just kidding she is a great artist…for me to poop on
thanks for the nice comments, hopfully i can make more progress with out messing things up too bad, haha. i went back and added in the arms, a little more tweaking and the think they are done, then i’m going to move onto the hands/glove. luckly i only need the one reference photo, because if i want to see how the muscels look all i have to do is take off my shirt and flex in front of a mirror, because i’m a real beast, and dont you loosers forget it!!
big thanks to Rore for starting the challange. i really am enjoying it, i have not made a coplex model in about a year, so it feels great to be back modeling, thanks!
Wu: Maybe it’s your camera perspective, I think your guy’s head looks too small.
Rore: I’ve had the same problem in 2.41, where in some cases Loop Cut immediately places the vertices without letting me adjust. Still investigating where and when it happens.
Kothe: Please put me down for Rore’s team. I think Wu sucks. I want to choke his face.
