From what I’ve seen and heard, the cloth modifier is more effective and seems easier (to me) for making cloth, whereas softbody really is more about things like fat, or gelatin. From my understanding, that is. Maybe not the case with new self collisions, but I haven’t seen any demos of softbodies working very well as cloth. I believe it was faked in Elephant’s Dream, too, so don’t bring that up
Yeah, that’s what the cloth sim is for. Cloth simulator is better looking at cloth, and faster, while the softbody’s are for heavier things, in general.
It is a faster solver that is specific to cloth.
