First ! , cool im watching pablo streaming ! ;D
Me too, he’s cheating!
My audio and video is choked somewhere between Amsterdam and Atlanta. I suspect that we are really popular and its overloaded. Maybe need a bigger pipe next year.
Would love to get some info about William Reynish’s UI improvements proposals.
the quality this year is great, compared to the last few years. i hope the post quality is better this year as well.
Heh - “The evolution of Blenders User Interface” was recorded:
http://river-valley.tv/conferences/blender_conference_2008/
Yup, really interested to know if the other room is being recorded as well.
William, I’m exactly on your line for the interface. Really great concept!
-Gian
And just to know…what is Brecht showing on his laptop to those other guys ? Mmmmm…
-Gian
I liked Ton’s ramble about the interface plans for 2.50 though some words got lost in the heavy dutch accent.
William’s ideas are pretty good too, I look foward to see how the interface is recoded for 2.50 and how Ton will tackle the problem of not enough space for buttons (which he’s very aware of)
I enjoyed Ton and Williams presentations - thanks for making them available for download
Re the UI overhaul:
Did I hear correctly Ton say the UI graphics elements would be handled via Python?
I am interested to know more about this because I would like to have better blender/scripts interoperablity and have better graphical options for scripts and the scripts window.
Can someone who is in the loop explain more about this 2.5 Python intent please.
Do you think some of the highlights will be uploaded to google?
Thank you for passing one the link … downloading now ![]()
I think it is foolish to get rid of the horizontal bar. I don’t think it should matter if the panels are the same size, if you want to make efficient use of screen size use vertical, if you like it horizontal suffer missing some space. We would also be losing ‘free’ alignment. What about people who use vertical screens? potential solutions: vertical font, sliders etc. for horizontal or we horizontal likers would have to make multiple vertical windows beside each other to simulate horizontals.
Also regarding color coding:
Keep in mind some people are color blind, it would be best to keep colors extremely different, and at different brightness/darkness.
Can’t seem to find the video feed this morning. Old link is not working.
-Gian
My knee-jerk reaction is to agree with everything William proposed.
I would bet that the horizontal buttons window could be kept … though I use the vertical version exclusively.
It seems that the Masonry meeting room is not recorded or streamed.
Is anyone with a camera there willing to record some of the talk there ?
