Blender Courses

This Christmas I was think of buying a blender course to improve my overall skill

Any recommendations? (Recent/Up to date version of blender courses please)

It depends what kind of things interest you. CG Cookie has a lot of good tutorials. They are mostly very beginner tutorials, but some get deep enough that you could make your own animated short.
The Blender Courses are good. Even though things like Blenderella and Humane Rigging are old, the things they teach still apply.

And, it’s possible that you don’t really want a Blender course. Many things in 3D art are general, like animation and topology. You just have to be familiar enough with Blender to know how to apply something in it.

If you aren’t looking for the general and intermediate courses, if you just want to learn your way around Blender, CG Cookie will be your friend. Their Flows will start you out with the basics.

You could provide info on your current knowledge and what area you actualy want to learn\improve in.

CG cookie also has some free course that they no longer stream, but can be accesed in archive.

Highly recommend http://www.blenderguru.com/

Blender Guru is very “hacky” and favors trial-and-error over actually understanding how certain features work. So, I generally watch it to learn about different features and to get inspiration. But, I pretty much always supplement it with more in-depth tutorials on the different features. The tutorials are free, and they reflect that. If the OP has a specific topic of interest, buying a specialized course will go a long way. Again, this goes back to the OP’s current skill level with Blender.

Ok,thanks for your thoughts

You are welcome.

i agree. he uses lots of shortcuts like importing greyscale textures, alpha and textures online for his work. when he could just create these in blender. im really starting to doubt his “expertise” when he does that. he does have nice theoretical information however.
the artists that works in his company are very good

Self teach yourself the basics with youtube or the likes videos. Their are tons of youtube tutorials at each level. You will find that the stuff you learn in courses are freely available all over the net in some fashion. Blender Guru was my first choice and still is a good choice for modeling and textures which he focuses on mostly. I like to make games so i usually find those elsewhere.

Udemy.com has all their courses on sale for $15 through the holidays. “The Complete Blender course” is usually $195…now $15. They have a LOT of courses. All courses include lifetime access and materials.

I bought this one

I bought the Blender rigging course from Lee Salvemini. And he has 2 other really good ones there.

Also a lot of Unity and Unreal…etc.
