Blender crashes immediately at startup after installation

Hi there!

I’ve been using Blender for years now, and I recently reinstalled my pc(windows), only to find out that I can’t get the program to run any more! :open_mouth:

When I start it up, the blender.exe window immediately prompts:

‘import site’ failed; use -v for traceback
sys_init:warning - no sitedirs added from site module.

Then windows tells me that an error has occured in blender.exe and that it has to be shut down… Help me :)! I want to be able to use blender again!

Any ideas?

The warning in the console is solely about python not being installed (see here). But this shouldn’t crash blender.

I’ve had your problem once before and then it was because my download of the blender .exe had been corrupted. Redownloading the .exe and reinstalling blender solved it. Don’t know if it will work for you though.
