Blender crashes when selecting axes...help?

Blender always crashes and closes (illegal operation…don’t you just love Windows?) when I right-click on anything with an axis (including Empties). I’ve been using single-vertex meshes as replacements for Empties, but that’s really annoying having to create a plane, delete 3 vertices, then click the Center button every time I want to add an “Empty”. If anybody has had the same problem, or if you know how to fix it, please tell me.

Thanks!

what version of Blender?
what version of Windows?
did you try updating the drivers of your 3D card? probably not related, but it’s always a good idea to do soo every now and then

Version of Blender: Publisher 2.25 (Same problem with Creator 2.23)

Version of Windows: 98 Second Edition

I updated my video drivers 2 months ago, and I haven’t found any new updates since then.

I’m wondering if it’s a problem with OpenGL in Blender…?
