Blender crashes when viewing .TIF's

I’m working on a project at work that uses .tif image files. When I view some of the images in the UV editor, and then zoom out/pan the image so that the edge of the image touches the edge of my viewport, blender hard crashes every time.

The console says: “TIFFReadDirectory Warning, <Blender TIFF Interface Layer>: unknown field with tag 317 <0x13d> encountered.”

Has anyone else ever gotten this crash before? I’m wondering if it’s blender, of if parts of the images are bad.

Update: I just got the same error in GIMP by trying to open one of the same files, so it looks like its not blender. I’m going to try re-saving them as something else.
