Blender crashes

Hi … I have been using Blender for several months now and it has performed perfectly, I have raved about how stable it is compared to other software I have used. However yesterday it started crashing. I imported a video file as a plane, which worked fine at first but then began crashing. The video file seems to be OK and I have renamed it several times but each time I try to import it now, Blender crashes immediately. Any ideas?

Also sometimes it loads with the correct aspect ratio and sometimes it is just a square…

Hi, does it crash with every video or with only one?
Do you use the latest Blender 2.78c?
If the file is not to big please upload it, other user can test.

Hi…I am using version 2.78, not sure whether its b or c … anyway it would seem there was a problem with that particular video file, although it played OK. I just uploaded another which worked fine, I should have done that before but I’m a bit slow today:I
