Blender cursor issue in Linux - is it a bug?

Has anyone experienced problems with their cursor in Blender when running it in Linux?

Specifically the issue I’m having is that when I click to accept an edit, the edit is discarded. For example, say I want to grab and move some verts. I select the verts, hit G, hold Ctrl to move in increments, get them to the desired location and then L click… and they jump back to where they were. The edit is cancelled. (If not moving in increments it seems to be OK.)

This happens not just with incremental grab/move commands, but box selection, the knife tool, all kinds off things.

I’ve found some workarounds (hitting Enter to accept instead of clicking), but it’s really annoying and some features cannot be used at all.

Anybody know what’s going on?

I should mention that I’m running Blender on a MacBook in Ubuntu through VMware Fusion (out of necessity). Not sure if it’s a virtualization problem or a Blender/Linux problem. Also the cursor appears as a thick crosshair, which it didn’t used to do on the Mac version. I don’t know if this is normal for the Linux Blender.

See what happens if you right click. You’re mouse buttons may be mapped incorrectly.

The thick crosshair is probably due to whatever X11 cursor theme you are using.

Good idea, but I just tested the Right and Middle mouse buttons. They appear to be functioning as normal. It’s just that certain combinations don’t work.

Although… is it possible there are other buttons beyond the normal three that it could be mapped to? Like maybe button one is functioning as button 4 (not sure how high the buttons go). And where in Ubuntu would I look to verify something like that? I checked my mouse preferences but those all look normal.
