Okay, so quick question. Usually when I render things in Blender I have the screen split into a render on top and a node editor on bottom. When I render the image up top and then close the node editor, it re renders the image. Is there anyway to render an image and then ‘freeze’ it so to speak so that it doesn’t re-render every time I move the screen?
Are you rendering the scene from the render panel (or F12) and viewing the result in the image editor or setting the viewport to rendered view
If the latter there is a pause render button on the 3dview header.
Also Ctrl+B allows you to restrict the render to a section of the viewport
