I have following problem:
Using computer with 4x Xeon E7-8890 v4 which in total have 196 threads Blender 2.77 uses only 64 of them. In result render times are just 20 sec better than single GTX 970 on BMW benchmark scene. Can anyone help with this topic?
Had to read that a couple of times to find it, and I knew what to look for. Specifically, it adds support for processor groups in Windows. This allows systems with more than 64 logical processors to throw everything at the job. Previously you were limited to only one processor group - which is where that 64 thread limit comes from.
