Blender downside for animators

With Ubisoft Animation Studios incorporating Blender into their pipeline and helping with development, I suspect much of the gap in this area will be filled in due time. This will inevitably attract more riggers and animators, and, I’m sure, more rig options in the free (and premium) market.

I have to agree with you that resources on animation is quite poor in Blender, last time i saw a flow of animations in Blender was in Blender 2.4 series.
About blend file in the blender cloud, what are the rigs that you have played with? Note that not all the rig use blendrig technique. And there is blendswap you can find many different type of rig one of the person who has been doing good rig and anime them as is Waylow https://www.blendswap.com/profile/305/blends

The main reason there was a large change from 2.4 to 2.5 I think was rigify which was a vast improvement over available rigs created by the community. Before that you had to rig from scratch.
