Blender equivalent of C4D surface deformer

After a year of using Cinema 4D I’m coming back to Blender. There’s one thing I’m missing - the C4D surface deformer.

Does Blender have a way to shape a surface precisely using another object? For example, I have a plane which is textured based on it’s geometry, but I have a second plane which is used to deform the first object.

I’ve tried the lattice modifier, but I miss the control and accuracy using splines to model the modifying plane.


I’m not sure i get what you mean… Would the Shrinkwrap modifier be what you’re looking for?
