Blegine: i do feel a need for a prize

I’ll try to get something for the winner, maybe someone will sponsor the prize for the contest. I’m just trying to contact some people. The prize will be known around 28 October, maybe a t-shirt, book, or something else. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmm the prize is good but I don’t want to buy it myself… I’m only 13
years old and don’t want to gamble with money
It will scare contestants away if there is an enterance fee, but it will
attract contestants if there is a prize but the contestants don’t want to
pay for fun and lose at the same time…
—So maybe someone could make a foundation for the prize where u
could donate if u want or not… So that way poor contestants can make
games too :-? Or a sponsor is a good idea too!!!

Oh and what is the max number of members in one team?
Or is it unlimited?

“xintoc”

I am 13 to and I think the price is fine.(achule the price doesent matter for me.)
I know a way we can do, we can pay if we want to + ask ton about something .(I will pay  )

bah, i wont beleive anyone who says they wouldnt rather have a prize… youre either lying to me, or to yourself

i can see a contest being “just for fun”… sure thats completely cool… but whats more fun, prize or no prize? its going to be a fun and friendly contest either way because this community is so close and neighborly, so adding a prize only sweetens the deal, it will not dampen the fun and will only increase the output and inspiration

i have an impossible time finding cons for adding a prize to the mix, only pros, so if someone could illuminate =)

as for the entrace fee, normally the host springs for that  cmon host! i will put in a chunk of change as well if needed so no one has to pay a cheesy entrance fee… you should know by now blenderheads are the cheapest of the bunch

Everyone likes prizes but that doesn’t mean that they woudln’t do it for
fun… I could only help with 3 dollars cuz that’s the sum that is on my credit
card right now… And I wont be sorry to lose such a little amount of money

But I’m not really sure if I want to join…
If there would be 14 contestants and each would pay 3$ then
U could buy the ‘Blender bundle’…

I’m trying to get someone sponsoring the game contest prize for the winner. I also have a cool blender mouseplate, maybe that will be the prize. Link: http://home.tiscali.nl/jdvhulst/game_contest/pictures/mouseplate.gif  So nobody has to pay for the contest to join. Also when the contest starts and everyone subscribe for it, you can also join halfway the contest, but deadline is deadline even is you joined later then 1 november.

A this moment we have 11 people to join the contest (poll) so are there more to join. I think 15 people is a great amount, and 20 will be the best. So ask friends, or just let your curent project rest and try the contest.

I like the mouse plate. Cool image.

sweet =) i will still also put in for other prizes if you decide to add more to the pot

That is a good prize.
I will join just to get that “cool blender mouseplate”.

ok i got it !!! 2 friends of mine just opened a t-shirt printing buisness, so i think i can use them to prit a qantity of t-shirtts for the contest (it’s minimal cost i’ll be happy to pay for it). if it dosen’t work, i myself can produce some nice quality T-shirts whith an iron-on paper (well everyone can). the thing is this prizes, regardless of how they were made will be a nice thing. if JD-multi can donate the mouse pads we can begin to collect a nice reward for the winners.
nevertheless, i thought of extending the idea : prizes won’t be payed for, rather collected. anyone can spare an old (not too old) piece of harware ? i’m sure some one out there will appriciate an old geforce2mx card. or my old cd-rom drive (x52) which lies around here since i got a new cd rw … i’m thinking scrap prizes !!! the only downsize of it is postal pay. what if i have to mail it to the usa ? that gonna cost a bit. still, if i join the contest i’m donating several blender t-shirts. no, scrap that. i’m donating anyway. JD-multi : tell me what is the quantity you need - i think, a shirt, a mouse pad and another thing (a blender mug ?) for first place, a shirt and a mouse pad for seconed and just a shirt for third. how does it sound ?

kflich, It sounds nice, but you must notice thats ending to the USA is a little bit expensive. If I send something to the USA, it will cost 7 euro for shipping, and because I’m just a little poor student, I think we will only have the mouseplate.

I also send Ton a e-mail about the gameng contest to sponsor the prize. So guess what he said?
He said to me: “I want to sponsor the game contest it’s winner prize, but only if it’s made with blender. The person who winds the contest, may search the e-shop, and choose one thng he wants.” So if someone wins the contest, I’ll contact him who’s the winner, and then he will pay the thing that is choosen and also pay the shipping.

So this sounds great, Blender.org will sponsor the Game Contests prize. :stuck_out_tongue:

All the time bussy, trying to organise the Blender Game Contest, I realised to ask the following.
At this moment I’m making the contest website where people can find resources, link and much more to usefull tutorials, files and link to get the best out of there game. I also wanted to add some links to the games from the last Game Contest which was organised by Blendergames. But I can’t find some of the links anymore.

So my question is, does someone know the links to the games from the last game contest?

Btw, I also got a prize for the person who will win the contest. Believe me, it’s awesome,:o and If I could join, I joined this Game Contest. :stuck_out_tongue:

one problem, what about teams that enter? how will they split the prize :stuck_out_tongue:

Aswell… i dont think we should limit the theme to christmas, doing this will limit the games since designers cant choose the theme they are most comfortable with.

Just cut the GameKit in half

I think the theme should stay christmas, but u don’t have to put
santas, reindeers or elves in it…
I think that the game should only be connected to christmas…

Oh and JD-multi:
Does the game have to have story in it or just
start the game and complete one objective?

Blender_owl: one problem, what about teams that enter? how will they split the prize

Sadly there’s only one prize for eacht team or person. If a team wins the prize, they have to choose someone in the team, and give the prize to him. Ton just sponsored the prize as a present, and because it’s payed from the money from blender users, he can’t just give the whole team a prize.

Xintoc: Does the game have to have story in it or just start the game and complete one objective?

It’s your choice, if you want a story, just do it, if you want just some objectives, then to that. :stuck_out_tongue: A story would be fun I think.

Hey! Who said u have to be in teams? :-?

You dont hawe to be in teams (I hope).

xintoc: Hey! Who said u have to be in teams?

Nope, teams are allowed, but you can also do it in your own. But if you are in a team, there’s only a prize for one person. But you can join the contest in your own.

Btw, notice that you can subscribe for the contest tomorrow. I’ll post a link to the place where you can find information about the contest and much more. I also added all the questions which where asked in this topic to the FAQ page. So stay tuned for the link. 8)

Well? :o
