Is this thing free yet, and whether it is or not, where can I find it online?
Also, if it’s not online, would someone be kind enough to email me the PDF for the racing game things with the .blends?
Thanks

No, it’s still sold at the blender e-shop: http://www.blender3d.org/e-shop/

I doubt someone will just e-mail you the PDF version, especially when considering that they had to buy the gamekit initially. (why should you get it for free? - would be the most common disposition I presume)
That said, I doubt that you really “need” the gamekit. Most of the individuals that comprise the BGE community learned well enough without it, and so can you. Besides, the demos from the gamekit were developed for 2.25, so there is a good chance that they don’t work properly when run under the latest 2.43 version. (making them somewhat useless).
If there is something you’re stuck on, just ask in the forums, and you should get help on any specific issue.
Nah I’ve been using it for a while but I’m just curious as to how that racing thing was set up. I’ve seen screens and stuff too. Plus since it’s so outdated, there really should be no reason to pay for it.
I’ve asked about a few things like making the car track so it’s not like playing asteroids with a car shaped space ship and how to make the wheels spin according to speed. I’ve found a number of templates that work with SUMO and I prefer working with that. Not having much success doing anything of use with Bullet.
Bullet made it more outdated than ever.
Also GLSL changed a lot for me. It’s so cool. But it’s not in the kit.
