Blender Game

Hey

We are making a 3d first person shooter, using blender, the gimp and crystal space. It will become a uge project (already is) we are working with eleven people to get it done by june next jear (2007). The game will become opensource, so you all can play it. Here are some screenshots:

Looks like a great start.
The only thing I can see being problematic is that the arches are unusually high-poly. Using half the amount of polygons in the curve, the same results could be achieved, and things would run alot smoother.

If you are using crystal space the polygons might not be so problematic, I have bareley used CS so I might be wrong, but in blender polys like that are probably overdoing it [once you had characters etc.]

as far as i know CS is a bit slow hence i would recommand to reduce detail level like Mattimus said. especially those curves you can anytime bump up with subdiv if needed.

CS already loaded the map, and it has apsolutly no problem with the poly’s it runs smootley on a 400mhz 16mb video memory computer. But thanx for your comments!!
