Blender GE shadow error

I’ve been having a problem (in 2.58) with real time shadows, with some objects a shadow is produced, and with others, none. I don’t see any material differences between the objects that make shadows and the objects that don’t. Her’s a video:

Quick answer: Is your spot set to “Layer Only”, with the crate on a different layer?

Great. It’s good to organize your scene by object type, and it saves frame rate by setting lights to layer only, but of course you can end up with problems like that.
