Yea its a bit messy and confused sorry about that, I have been working on a better setup here is what i got so far!

Your character and rig are very intuitive and good looking.But,your facial animations need a bit improving.If you look into a mirror and start talking, you will notice that your cheekbones move and your eyes either close a little or open wider depending on what you’re trying to express in words. When talking or expressing emotions, the whole face moves (eyebrows,eyes,cheeks,lips,jaw,lips,etc.).Keep up the good work.

Nice work man, I wish I knew half as much about rigging as you do.

Very nicely modeled and rigged. I didn’t realize you could make a pair of lips move in so many ways! The cartoonish design also works really well. The textures look pretty good, and i agree with tomrebel2 about the lighting.

I know you’re going for a non-photoreal look, but it looks like she’s skinny enough to put my hands around her waist.

Ok Ive got half an update as I’m going home for Easter to build a fence with my dad so i wont be able to do work till Tuesday but I thought might as well show what I’ve got so far.

I love the way that character looks … I mean well… not in a… a well u know what i mean. I definitely like the combatbunny. A pair of mountain climbing shoes for the combat blendergirl would probably look good :slight_smile:
Anyway keep up the awesome modelling and rigging :slight_smile:

edit: just noticed a small seam at the back of the legs of bunny version (after aegis mentioned it :p), dunno if you noticed it, but I thought I’d mention it :slight_smile:

I was going to b0 a white stripe up her leg like you get on old stockings because i think its really provocative they almost lead your eyes strait up the leg!

I believe this is a Dean Yeagle, please correct me if am wrong, inspired work I like his style so I can pick up when someone is going for the same look. the are lots of underage people here so am not sure how familar most would with his work as he draws his toons mostly for Playboy. That superslim waist is a style of his pinups

Yea I was defiantly inspired by Dean Yeagle! although I never would have known about his work if i hadn’t seen AndyH’s work on CGTalk!

I like highly stylized characters! but they are hard to do/look right! I think that was one of the reasons blender girl 2 failed :frowning: I wanted to create a character with sharp edges like in Madagascar but I wasn’t up to the challenge.

In this one I’m trying to develop a style that i like, but it is difficult everyone seems to have a different idea about whats stylized and whats wrong! Although I have improved the character by leaps and bounds since the start of my WIP thread. Its a constant battle between appealing to peoples idea of stylization but keeping just on the edge of the presurpuss of the “Uncanny Vally”!

This is just simply fantastic; excellent on all levels.

@do you have any plans on releasing the full rig, I am faced with problem of having rather costly broadband on this side of the pond so getting my hands on open content like the man candy faq is out of the question. I make do with mostly written tutorials or short video and what you have released in terms of the foot and spine has been rather helpful to me but having the full rig to study from would be so cool.

McHammond I would be interested in a tutorial on how you made the hair and the ponytail. After fooling around with blender particle hair for months now, I was finally convinced by someone else that particle hair is too complicated for what I want to do. I need something like the ponytail on this girl but a LOT longer. Like down to the back of her knees or her ankles. That ponytail will actually have a armature attached and its own actions. Somewhat like the animated ponytail on Grendel’s Mother in the 3d animated action movie BeoWulf.

can we please have a blend file of the rig? you need to include the character. please, i’m new to rigging and want to rig homer simpson?
