Blender in 3D Contest.

Hi,

if you read this thread in the WiP forum :

https://blenderartists.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9367

Now this is time to show you the result of my hard work on this scene :

I wish I had a little more time to improve some elements, but I’m quite satisfied with the result.

Crits are welcome, but I won’t be able to change anything because the contest is closed now (actually in 45 mn from the moment I’m writing this)

Hope you like it, let me know if you grab it as a wallpaper, I’d be happy to hear about that.

See y@

Waaooo

Great work

Bravo

Thanks Speedtiti,

I hope I can model cars like you do one day

Merci et a plus.

Nice job!

I’d smooth the tail out and edit the text on the spine of “The Blender Guide” as it’s stretched & bitmapped.

Otherwise, outstanding! Let us know how Blender does in the contest, eh?

Oh, and you did good too.

P.S. Superb hair!!

Dang that turned out well, really well, my hats off to you. Good luck in the contest.

that turned out really really good!!! excellent modelling!

however, i do have a crit…the tail looks weird, i think it needs some smoothinghttp://www.anno1503.com/forum/images/smilies/silly.gif

Thanks for comments, well in fact the tail is smooth but I used a texture plugin to achieve this look.
I’ve used some reference photos and have tried to achieve a look as close as possible to them.

For the Blender guide text, the problem is that I built a book model that was too much subdivided and that’s what caused the trouble with UV mapping.

I’ll tell you when the results are out.

Serialsiner.

I’d put in some DOF too, for scale.

Yeah I know, but I didn’t have time for that.
Maybe I’ll post an improved version in a few days …

Serialsiner.

I would agree with the book title problems and the tail weirdness expressed beforehand.

However, love it!
Love the books - especially the one he/she is writing in.
Wish I could do that.

Thanks Caleb,

Actually it’ s a “he” hehe

For the books nothing difficult : a simple uvmap on as simple book mesh.
And oh, the writings on the page are a piece of code from the Yable script
I’m sure you can do that.

Serialsiner.

I like this very much but it seems to lack shadowing. Is it just me?

The head of the rat is very great !
So i’ll say the same things that everyone here : the tail is a little weird, and I think CurtisS is true… Shadows are missing on this pictures…

Super beau boulot l’artiste !

WizardNx.
