I think the way you can customize your Blender interface is very cool. I haven’t seen another program that has an interface so customizable. Do you think that it would be great if other programs would have this possibility? Maybe in your favourite 2d editor?
The only other app with this functionality is Modo. And that’s because they basically ripped off Blender’s UI paradigm.
It’s just a shame that they then went on to introduce some really clever touches that put them way out in front.
I have a dream: Photoshop-like paint program with Blender UI. 
Adobe uses a very similar window method for After Effects, Premiere, and Encore. I really appreciate that too, because it give you oodles of flexibility just like Blender!

The idea of a non-overlapping UI is indeed clever. This style of UI is spreading fast into other applications, like the new Creative Suite 3 from Adobe, which now uses mostly non-overlapping windows. Though not quite like Blender, it’s a huge improvement.
