Blender internal vs Yafray

I’m not sure… except for the fact that yafray is a pain if you want to check your model while you are working. I just will not rework every texture and light to make a yafray render work when there is little difference between yafray and blender internal…

For example here is a render I did of a character I am working on, thes one done with blender internal…

…and here is one of the same character done with yafray…

Yes the background is too bright with blender internal but that can be adjusted. The problems I have with both is that if you notice the ear in Yafray there is a light reflection behind it that shouldn’t exist. In the blender internal notice the spectral coming off the inside of the left eye. The nose is in between the light in question and the eye, so there should be no spectral there.

Scince I’m new at this if anyone could tell me more about this kind of stuff I would truly like some opinions…

It depends on what your working on- Blenders internal is better supported. so Id use blenders internal engine until you grow out of it. if you grow out of it.

I have messed with the lighting to change the shadows closer to what happens using blender internal AO and here is what is bothering me…

If you look at the image the left eye is to close to the camera. I mean it’s distortedly to close to the camera. In the blender render it shows a lens veiw, wish it was adjustable, but it’s close to what would happen in real life. The Yafray vew is similar to the veiw I get while manipulating the mesh during modeling in flat view. Yafray has some things going for it but the aspect issue just bugs me… anyone have a different opinion on this???
