blender is possessed! (AO Baking) [resolved]


I’m trying to bake AO to a mesh, I know the basics and have tested on a cube… it all works fine.

On a slightly more complex model, it starts off fine, the shading matches perfectly with the rendered AO, great.

Then, after a few seconds, blender goes batsh*t crazy, and starts drawing triangles all over the image; It’s still running after about 30 minutes… rendering the image (with AO on) takes about 2 minutes.

Anyone got any ideas, or holy water?

I think it’s because there was an un-applied ‘bevel’ modifier on the mesh… just testing now.

Yep, certainly seems to be that…
