Blender keeps shutting down

Hi, I’m having a very hard time trying to use any method of applying hair to my mode without Blender shutting down.

I have a Dell, Optiplex 7090 computer, and I just upgrated the graphics card according to Dell’s GPU- discrete section on their page. The graphics card is a Nvidia Geforce rtx 3070 8gb and I have a 32gb memory. I tried everything possible to simulate hair and Blender keeps shutting down. I used another newer computer with a 3060 graphics card and the same thing happened. I’m working on a model from MD-lab which already has bones. Blender shuts down every time I use the subdivision modifier. Can someone here please help me, I don’t know what else to do. Thank you.

You may have to elaborate some details about you mode and settings to get a more suited answer.

Are you trying to open a blend file? If so, it’s 99% probable that you’re opening a blend file made in version 3.6 or above on a blender version which is version 3.5 or below
Files from 3.6 and above will not run on versions 3.5 and below.

I’m not trying to open a blend file. I’m using Blender 4.0. I’m having a problem making hair on a MB-lab model in Blender without Blender shutting off every time I tried to bake the hair. I don’t know how to fix this. My Nvidia graphics card is upgraded to 8gb and I have 32gb of memory. I appreciate any help you can give me, thanks.

Easiest fix is deleting the current build of blender you have right now and install a new one.

I already did that and still no luck.

Then I have no idea. Maybe check your gpu drivers and overclock it using msi afterburner. Or check if you are using cpu or gpu in preferences.
