Blender lamp too powerful

Is it just me or do many people think the at blender’s lamps are way too powerful! They go from zero (pitch black darknesss) to 100 (nuclear explosion).

In multiple lamp setups I find I have them set way down and usually under 1.0. Is this “normal.” Does anybody use a light at an intensity of over 10? Would a less powerful top limit give us greater control?

your scene could be at a much larger scale, and then the value of 100 could be too low
