Blender LUT .cube files appear washed-out and dark

Hello, I’m adding .cube files to blender by placing them into: Blender\blender2.8\datafiles\colormanagement\luts

then I edit config.ocio and add this:

But the render looks really dark on raw mode and washed-out on filmic. Am I missing something? I’ll appreciate any advise, thanks.

  1. 3D LUTs cannot arbitrarily go from random input to random output. They are discretized formulas essentially, that transform a known state to another known state. Neither side is known here.
  2. Even if they meant anything, they would be sub-optimally due to the lack of a shaper; 3D LUTs operate on bounded data ranges of some varying magnitude, and typically they are perceptually distributes for optimal sampling.
