I downloaded the software and read the instructions. It states something about “Scripts” I have no idea as of how to do this, so am not sure what I am doing wrong or where to go to get this done.
But when I open the download of Blender I can see the interface but it want allow me to move no matter what I do .
I am on a Core Intel Mac 10.5.8
Can some one please guide me through this.

First of all go to http://www.blendercookie.com/getting-started-with-blender/ to help you get started using blender.
I assume you are using the mac mouse. Go to File / User Preferences. In the window that opens, go to the Input tab and on the left hand side select ‘Emulate 3 Button Mouse’ Press the ‘Save as Default’ button or use Ctrl+N to save this for everytime you start blender.
Alt+LMB = rotate
Ctrl+Alt+LMB = zoom
Shift+Alt+LMB = pan
